GIScRG Dissertation Award 2025: Winners Announced

We are delighted to announce the recipients of the GIScRG Dissertation Award 2025, following a careful review of the submitted dissertations.

Winner

Miaoyi Li
Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, University College London

“Digital Planning Support in a Data-Scarce Context by Estimating Urban Activities: A Case Study in Jaipur City, India”

Runner-up

Nicholas Kinsella
School of Geography and Environmental Sciences, Ulster University

“Monitoring Methane Emissions at Hassi Messaoud from 2021 to 2024 Using Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-5P: Assessing Algeria’s Progress Towards Its 2030 GHG Reduction Target”

The winner will receive £100 and a one-year RGS-IBG Postgraduate Fellowship, while the runner-up will receive £50 and a one-year RGS-IBG Postgraduate Fellowship.
